Job Description

Our client is a CySEC licensed investment firm with offices in Limassol, currently looking for an Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification, previous experience in the field, will have communication skills and proficiency in English.

Job Responsibilities

  • Managing all incoming and outgoing payments accurately in the company's accounting system.
  • Interact extensively with banks, responsible for managing the company's bank accounts.
  • Experience with payroll software systems and proficiency in using accounting software for payroll processing.
  • Understanding of relevant tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to payroll administration.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payment of employee wages.
  • Skill in interpreting financial data and performance metrics to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, ledgers, and documentation, utilizing accounting software and other financial systems effectively.
  • Provide support during external audits, tax filings, and regulatory inspections, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documents and information.
  • Stay informed about developments in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and proactively apply this knowledge to enhance financial processes and reporting practices.
  • Any other related tasks assigned by his/her manager.
  • Reports to the CFO.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, or professional certification (such as CPA or ACCA).
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience  in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the financial services industry, is desirable.
  • Experience with financial reporting.
  • Understanding of currency markets, and financial instruments is essential.
  • Understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties (such as auditors, regulators, and tax authorities).
